This README documents improvements and service to Tivoli Storage Manager Version 3,
Release 7 delivered in service update 3.7.4.0 (ptf4) AND SUBSEQUENT PATCHES

     1) Stop all TSM servers
        - Start the "TSM Server Utilities"
        - Select "Service Information" icon in tree contained within left pane
        - In right pane, select the TSM server service
        - Right click to view menu
        - Select "Stop" menu item
        - Repeat for each running server

     2) Stop the ADSM device driver
        - Start the "TSM Server Utilities"
        - Select "Service Information" icon in tree contained within left pane
        - In right pane, select the "TSM Device Driver"
        - Right click to view menu
        - Select "Stop" menu item

     3) Make copies of the files that will be replaced

        - From the server directory, copy the files listed below to a temporary
          location.  By default C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\server

            adsmdll.dll
            dsmserv.exe
            dsmsvc.exe
            dsmameng.msg
            dsmameng.txt
            dsmameng.hlp

        - From the %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers directory, copy the file listed
          below to a temporary location.

            adsmscsi.sys


     4) Execute PA3745S.exe and unpack the files into a temporary location.

     5) Copy the unpacked files to the proper location. This will install the
        files necessary for this patch.

        - To server directory. By default C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\server
            adsmdll.dll
            dsmserv.exe
            dsmsvc.exe
            dsmameng.msg
            dsmameng.txt
            dsmameng.hlp

        - To readmes directory. By default C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\readmes
            read1-3745.txt
            readme-3745.txt

        - To the Windows directory, %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers directory
            adsmscsi.sys


     6) If you need to back off this patch, simply copy the files saved away in
        step 3) back to the appropriate directories.

 DE30459  Enhanced rc checking on unload processing.

 DE28877  CLEAN ARCHDIR error on MVS (TSM development defect)

          This is an additional correction for APAR IC27286

 IC29266  ERROR SWITCHING TO SIDE B OF OPTICAL AND WORM MEDIA

          TSM does not switch to Side B of a two-sided optical or worm
          media when it reaches the end of volume on Side A during
          a backup operation.

 IC28390  UNLOAD LOAD ANR9999D ANR1310E VARY-ON FAILED FOR DISK VOLUME ER

          The server unloaddb utility does not accurately report the
          success or failure of the process.  Because of this, there
          are cases where the unloaddb db image may be incomplete.

 IC29785  DSMSERV LOADDB LOOPS WITH 100% CPU UTILIZATION

          During both the unload and load funtions a timing condition can
          that will cause the functions to not break out of loop, preventi
          it from terminating normally.

 IC28706  WEB ADMIN SESSIONS HANG. APPEARS TO BE LOOP IN PAGE FETCH CAUSI

          WEB ADMIN session hang and CPU utilization increases.
          The problem is caused by a LOOP in the buffer prefetcher.

 IC29533  TSM SERVER CORE DUMPS: ANR9999D ACCESSING INVALID MEMORY AND RU

 IC29878  AFTER TSM SERVER UNLOAD/LOAD AND MISSING BIT VECTOR PROBLEM

 IC29981  TSM SERVER PERFORMANCE ISSUE WITH ACSLS
