 o This PTF is a service update for the Tivoli storage Manager, version 3.7.
   All packages are built to do a new (or migrate) install so this 
   level will replace the Tivoli Storage Manager "GA" base level (3.7.0.0) 
   on your system. 

   *************************************************************************
   *	          CONSEQUENCES of a Migrate Install                        *
   *                                                                       *
   * In general Tivoli Storage Manager employs 3 types of install          *
   * A new install, a migrate install and an update install.               *
   * Flags and "control lists" contained in the installation package       * 
   * determine which type of install can take place.                       *
   * o A new install assumes that the fileset is not already installed     *
   *   - if it is, the install of the new fileset may fail                 *
   * o A migrate install is used when an older fileset may be installed    *
   *   and should be removed. If no "old" fileset is detected, a migrate   *
   *   install acts like a new install.                                    * 
   *                                                                       *
   * Both new and migrate installs establish a new "base" level for a      *
   * fileset! That is, the fileset is set to the COMMIT state.             *
   *                                                                       *
   * o An update install requires that a base level is installed.          *
   *   - if no base is detected the update install will fail               *
   *   - The user can choose to save or not save the old fileset.          *
   *     ("save" is not allowed for a migrate install and is meaningless   *
   *      for a new install.)                                              *
   *     If "save" is the choice, the fileset is set to the APPLY state.   *
   *     You have the choice later to reject or COMMIT the update.         *
   *     If you reject the update, the prior level is "restored".          *
   *     If you COMMIT the update. all prior levels are removed and the    *
   *     COMMITTED level becomes the new base level.                       * 
   *                                                                       *
   * Once a fileset is COMMITTED, you cannot revert to a prior level       *
   * through the installp reject option (installp -r <fs-name>.            *
   * To remove a COMMITTED fileset  you must deinstall it.                 *

   In particular, you should record all your device definitions prior
   to running this migrate install

AN ASIDE:
   You can use this level of the Tivoli Storage Manager for AIX on a trial basis.
   Since 3.7.3.0 is a new base, it can be installed and will run without
   the license enablement package. However, without license enablement the server
   will become unuseable after 60 days. The license enablement package is 
   only available when you order the base (GA) product - 3.7.0.0 and the
   GA  base must be installed first.
