ITSANM_1.3.0.52 (interim fix 40086) APAR: ====== IC40086 Release: ======== IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager v1.3.0 Date: ========= 04/7/2004 Description or symptom of the problem: ====================================== The IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager does not launch the IBM TotalStorage SAN Volume Controller management application. Build level affected: ===================== This interim fix applies only to the drivers labeled: ITSANM_1.3.0.50 (full version of IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager) ITSANM_1.3.0.51 (Bonus Kit for IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager) Do not attempt to apply it to any other IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager driver. To determine the driver level: 1. Open an Internet Browser 2. In the address field, type: http://:/ITSRM/ServiceManager Where: = The IP address of IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager (agent machine). = The port number of the IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager (agent machine) is running on. The default is 9570. 3. Verify that the VERSION column states 1.3.0.50 or 1.3.0.51 for all services. Log in to the AIX managed host as root. 2. Stop the agent by going to the working directory and running the following command. /tivoli/itsanm/agent/bin/aix/tcstop.sh (if for example the agent is installed in the /tivoli/itsanm/agent directory) Make sure that the agent is stopped before proceeding to the next step. Copy the interim fix AIXAgent_40086.tar to the installation directory /agent/bin/aix. Extract the interim fix by typing: tar -xvf AIXAgent_40086.tar chmod +x Attribute 5. Start the agent by going to the working directory and running the following command. /tivoli/itsanm/agent/bin/aix/tcstart.sh (if for example the agent is installed in the /tivoli/itsanm/agent directory) Directions to remove the interim fix from the AIX managed host: =============================================================== 1. For example if the agent is installed in the c:\tivoli\itsanm\agent directory: cd c:\tivoli\itsanm\agent\bin\w32-ix86 Copy the attribute file: copy Attribute.exe Attribute_pre_40086.exe 4. Copy the interim fix WindowsAgent_40086.zip to the installation directory \agent\bin\w32-ix86 and extract the zip file to the same directory. 5. Start the agent by doing the following. Click Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services The services panel is displayed. Start the agent service from the services panel. Directions to remove the interim fix from the Windows managed host: =================================================================== 1. Log in to the Windows managed host. 2. Stop the agent by running the following commands: Click Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services The services panel is displayed. Stop the agent service from the services panel.
