ITDT Help
Hints & Tips
Devices not found or not correctly assigned
If a scan terminates without having found any devices, check whether the server application is running with administrator/root rights.
If the scan operation is performed directly after powering up
a library, drives may not be correctly assigned to the changer device they belong to.
In that case, wait until the library is in ready state and retry the scan operation.
Multi-drive operation
Testing multiple drives simultaneously is not supported.
Abort function can be temporarily disabled
Several test steps (POST steps, microcode update) are not interruptible. Therefore the Abort button is disabled during these
operations.
Uninstalling will leave data files on the system
The uninstall of the software does not completely remove all traces from the system because the generated user data (logs and
dumps) as well as the user settings will be kept.
First ensure that you no longer need the generated output files (test reports, logs, dumps, settings).
To completely remove everything, execute the following steps after uninstalling:
Remove the installation directory (default: C:\Program Files\ibm\itdt-ge) and its subdirectories.
Remove the directory for logs and user settings (C:\Documents and Settings\username\.itdt-ge) and its subdirectories (username is the name of the user account which you use to run ITDT).
