I. Usage Statement
====================

The downloadable IBM XL Fortran Advanced Edition V8.1 Run-Time Environment 
for Mac OS X component is not warranted. It is to be used only for 
applications developed with IBM XL Fortran Advanced Edition V8.1 for 
Mac OS X. You must not use any part of this component with any other 
application or program.  For detailed terms and conditions, please refer 
to the LicenseAgreement.pdf and LicenseInformation.pdf.

II. Disk Image Contents
========================

Your Disk Image (.dmg) contains the following:

-> README
-> LicenseAgreement.pdf
-> LicenseInformation.pdf
-> packages/xlf.rte.mpkg

The xlf.rte.mpkg contains:

-> xlf.rte.pkg     (XL Fortran run-time libraries)
-> xlf.msg.rte.pkg (XL Fortran run-time message catalog)

III. Prerequisites
==================

The XL Fortran run-time environment requires Mac OS X 10.2 or 10.3.
  
IV. Installation Instructions
=============================

Complete the following steps to install the XL Fortran run-time environment:

1. You must deinstall any XL Fortran beta or evaluation run-time 
   packages before installing this run-time environment.

2. Download and open the xlf.rte.81.macosx.mmmYYYY.update.dmg disk image.

       where:
              mmm  is the month
              YYYY is the year

3. To install the run-time packages from the command line:
   
 /usr/sbin/installer -pkg /Volumes/ibmxlfrte/packages/xlf.rte.mpkg -target / -dumplog

To install the run-time packages from GUI, go to the packages directory in 
the disk image. Double-click the xlf.rte.mpkg package and follow the 
install instructions.

V. Deinstallation Instructions
==============================

If you do not have any applications that require the XL Fortran run-time 
libraries, delete them as follows:

/bin/rm -rf /Library/Receipts/xlf.msg.rte.pkg
/bin/rm -rf /Library/Receipts/xlf.rte.pkg
/bin/rm -f /opt/ibmcmp/msg/en_US/xrfmsg90.cat
/bin/rm -f /opt/ibmcmp/lib/libxlf*.dylib
