I. Usage Statement
==================

The downloadable XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 Run-Time Environment 
for Mac OS X component is not warranted. It is to be used only for 
C++ applications developed with IBM XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 for 
Mac OS X. You must not use any part of this component with any other 
application or program. For detailed terms and conditions, please refer to
the LicenseAgreement.pdf and LicenseInformation.pdf.

II. Disk Image Contents
========================

Your Disk Image (.dmg) contains the following:

-> README
-> LicenseAgreement.pdf
-> LicenseInformation.pdf
-> packages/vacpp.rte.mpkg

The vacpp.rte.mpkg contains:

-> vacpp.rte.pkg     (XL C++ run-time libraries)

III. Prerequisites
==================

The XL C++ run-time environment requires Mac OS X 10.2 or 10.3.
  
IV. Installation Instructions
=============================

Complete the following steps to install the XL C++ run-time environment:

1. You must deinstall any XL C++ beta or evaluation run-time packages 
   before installing this run-time environment.

2. Download and open the vacpp.rte.60.macosx.jun2004.update.dmg disk image.

3. To install the run-time packages from the command line:

/usr/sbin/installer -pkg /Volumes/ibmvacpprte/packages/vacpp.rte.mpkg -target / -dumplog

To install the run-time packages from GUI, go to the packages directory in 
the disk image. Double-click the vacpp.rte.mpkg package and follow the 
install instructions.

V. Deinstallation Instructions
==============================

If you do not have any C++ applications that require the C++ run-time
shared object, delete it as follows:

/bin/rm -rf /Library/Receipts/vacpp.rte.pkg
/bin/rm -f /opt/ibmcmp/lib/libibmc++.*.dylib
