This directory contains an interim fix for APAR IY89429 for the
5300-05 Technology Level.


Problem Description
-------------------
When a TCP connection goes idle, and remote end (need not
be AIX) sends TCP keepalives, AIX will respond to 5
keepalives and stop responding after that. However, it
will respond to FIN when closing the connection.


Prerequisites
-------------
bos.net.tcp.client 5.3.0.50 or 5.3.0.52


Installation
------------
Download the IY89429.<ff>.epkg.Z package in binary format, where
<ff> is 50 or 52, corresponding to the fix level of your installed
bos.net.tcp.client fileset.  Install using the following command:

  emgr -e IY89429.<ff>.epkg.Z

The system must be rebooted in order for this fix to take effect.
