Problem Description ------------------- Under certain circumstances, a 4K page of data from a deleted or truncated file could be written to a new file. This problem can only occur running the JFS filesystem, not JFS2. AIX 4.3: bos.mp or bos.up at the 4.3.3.91 level. Also, bos.rte.install at the 4.3.3.83 or later level is required to support the E-fix Manager. AIX 5.1: bos.mp or bos.up at the 5.1.0.54 level, or bos.mp64 at the 5.1.0.55 level. AIX 5.2: bos.mp64, bos.mp, or bos.up at the 5.2.0.14 level. The requisite fileset updates can be obtained from the pSeries Electronic Fix Distribution Center at: https://techsupport.services.ibm.com/server/aix.fdc Installation ------------ Download the appropriate patch package in binary format. Use the following command to install the appropriate patch depending upon your operating system level, replacing "package_name" with the package name listed in the Patch section. emgr -e package_name --- Contact your point of sale for questions regarding AIX fixes.
