Accessing Online Documentation Using Internet Explorer on Windows XP

When you open the online documentation homepage, the homepage looks like this:

The default security setting displayed in the information bar disables active content.

To display the documentation homepage correctly, click OK, then click the information bar and select the option "Allow Blocked Content...", then click Yes when prompted. The homepage will then be displayed correctly.

Accessing Online Documentation on Sun Java Plug-In Version 6 Update 15 and 16

A proxy problem prevents the Java applets to be loaded.

Workarounds:

Searching the Online Documentation

When browsing the online documentation using Internet Explorer 8 with recent Java plug-in versions (from 1.6.0_14), the search applet is not loaded.

Workaround: In the Java Control Panel dialog box, click Network Settings... then in the Network Settings window, select Direct connection instead of Use browser settings. After clicking OK to validate, you need to close all the Internet Explorer windows that might be open then open a new Internet Explorer window so that your changes are taken into account.
